Summer Heat Review
To the left you see a nice SCT flying across the main stretch jumps while a corner marshal watches for tip overs. This was one hot event, race and weather wise. Before we talk about the race I want to thank the track crew for their many hours of work prepping the track for the race. Jim Hutchins, Track Marshal, and his crew deserve a Well Done.
They include: JD Buck from Helena, Mat Permann, Darrin Berg, Jason Naranjo and
Dan woods.
We had 19 drivers register with 44 vehicles and a total of 1,156 laps. I was surprised there were several break downs during the races, mostly mechanical problems. The majority of racers entered more than one vehicle. In comparison we had 17 racers and 32 vehicles in our spring race, but our fall meet last year had 26 drivers with 56 vehicles. I hope our September race is as big as last years. We thank Don Gilles and Don Woods for running the computer setup, Emily Woods, cashier, and Don Woods, our Cook. I don't believe they had any computer problems. Sundays races were run very quickly, as the summer heat was hard on everybody.

Club President Dan Woods wrote these words on our Placebook page. "Summer Heat was a great success and the name was appropriate, it was a scorcher! Thank you to every
one who helped over the weekend and with all the preparation leading up to the weekend. First time racer at the Black Horse RC Raceway and out of towner, Justin Hadella, put on a show making the podium in three of four classes he ran and Jeremiah Muller, the only youth driver, won his class and ran with the big boys to show he was here to race! Congratulations to all the racers."
I'll insert some pictures I took during several races, followed by the podium shots.
Don Woods, our Chef for the weekend.

It was pretty cool how well the corner marshaling went, and for the track crew who watered and prepped the track between several races, impressive. Teamwork.
