Big Sky RC Meeting Minutes

President Dan Woods brought the meeting to order at 7:00 PM at the Pitstop with 11 members in attendance.

Secretary Don Gilles read November’s meeting minutes and they were accepted as read. 

Treasurer Darrell Anderson read the Treasurer’s report and it was accepted as read. 

Old business:  

Dan Woods opened with a discussion of our Christmas banquet.  The BSRC Christmas banquet will be Saturday, 21 Dec at the Pit Stop from 6pm to 9pm. The menu is chicken, beans, tots and garlic bread.  There will be a gift exchange for those who wish to participate, $20 max value. Gifts can be stolen twice.  Dan plans on getting some gift cards as we have done in the past.  Dan will be asking for RSVPs so he can get a tentative head count of those planning on attending.

Dan Woods reminded everyone that he'll be sending out an email asking for "Member of the Year" nomination.

Dan Woods then brought up our 2025 schedule and this is what was agreed upon:

- May 17-18 -  Spring Thaw R/C Off Road Racing, Great Falls, MT, BSRC Track
- June 7 - Club Fly, Great Falls, MT, BSRC Field
- June Wednesday Night League Racing, BSRC Track
- June 21 - Float-Fly, Wadsworth Park, Great Falls, MT
- July 12 - Open House, Great Falls, MT (Full RC Complex will be open to the public), BSRC Field
- July 26-27 - Summer Heat R/C Off Road Racing, Great Falls, MT (one day event), BSRC Track
- August 9 - Float-Fly, Missouri River, Great Falls, MT, across from Elks Riverside Park
- August 23-24 - Steve Woodhouse Invitational Fly-In, Woodhouse farm
- August 30 - Scale Fly-In, Great Falls, MT, BSRC Field
- September 13-14 - Fall Fury R/C Off Road Racing, Great Falls, MT, BSRC Track
- October 4 -  Leo Sommerfeld Memorial Fly-In, location TBD

Dan Woods advised members that all club positions needed to be finalized.  Dave Grosse asked for someone to take his position as VP.  The only volunteer was John Sandy.  Chuck Woods then volunteered to take over as BSRC Safety Coordinator from John Sandy.  Some discussions ensued and then Don Woods made a motion to finalize the positions which passed unanimously.  

IAW Article VI of the Big Sky R/C Modelers By-Laws, the Officers for 2025 will be:

President:  Dan Woods
Vice President:  John Sandy
Treasurer:  Darrell Anderson 
Secretary:  Don Gilles

As a reminder, we also have three non-elected positions which for 2025 will be:

Safety Coordinator:  Chuck Woods
Field Marshal:  Dave Grosse
Track Marshal:  Jason Naranjo

New business: 

None

FYI:

Club meetings are the first Tuesday night of the month at the Pitstop, 7pm.  
Club lunch is every Friday, noon at Hardees.
Wednesday night is our designated "get-together" night for club flying.

Upcoming Events:

BSRC Christmas party to be held Saturday, 21 Dec at the Pit Stop from 6pm to 9pm.

12/4 6:00 - 9:00
12/11-someone is in the gym until 6:00, so you could be in there at 6:30
