Big Sky RC Meeting Minutes Jan 07, 2025 President Dan Woods brought the meeting to order at 7:04 PM at the Pitstop with 9 members in attendance. Secretary Don Gilles read December’s meeting minutes and they were accepted as read. Treasurer Darrell Anderson read the Treasurer’s report and it was accepted as read. Old business: Don Gilles read off the results & expenditures of the Christmas banquet and reminded everyone that a synopsis of the banquet was sent out via email which was ignored as usual. New business: Dan Woods discussed the replacement of the driver's stand shade tarp with a sheet metal topping. No decisions were made for now. Jason Naranjo initiated a discussion about how the club is attracting sponsors or lack thereof. He also suggested we offer free beer as an incentive to get club members to attend the club meetings. Although the idea of free beer sounded great to the members present no decision was made. Jason Naranjo voiced concern about the club allowing unlimited classes for our races and that other clubs routinely limit a driver to either 3 or 4 classes. This discussion lasted nearly 15 minutes alone. As next to none of the "Track Only" members ever attend a meeting no decision was made to limit class entries. Don Woods asked if the club was still interested in purchasing a metal shipping container to replace our existing sheds. Currently the prices of these containers has dropped and it might be a good time to act. Dan Woods will look into the idea. FYI: Club meetings are the first Tuesday night of the month at the Pitstop, 7pm. Club lunch is every Friday, noon at Hardees. Wednesday night is our designated "get-together" night for club flying. Upcoming Events: Paris Gibson Gym Indoor Flying: Wednesday nights from 6pm -9pm - May 17-18 Spring Thaw R/C Off Road Racing, Great Falls, MT, BSRC Track Thanks to all attendees, the meeting was adjourned at 8:08 pm.
