Big Sky RC Meeting Minutes
August 04, 2026
President Dan Woods brought the meeting to order at 7:02 PM at the Great Falls VFW with 6 members in attendance.
President Dan Woods read July’s meeting minutes and they were accepted as read.
Treasurer Darrell Anderson read the Treasurer’s report and it was accepted as read.
Old business:
Dan Woods gave a run-down on the two July events; the Open House and the Summer Heat. Both were hot and windy with lower participation than usual but everyone that attended had a good time. A big thanks to John Sandy for cooking lunch for the Open House. A big thanks to everyone (limited number) that came out prior to both events to get the field and track ready!
Darrell Anderson had no update on the roof replacement over the frequency board but would be getting some prices soon.
Dan Woods had no update on the trailer purchase, still waiting for a good deal.
New business:
Dan Woods reminded everyone of our upcoming float fly event this Saturday which was originally planned for Elks Park on the Missouri but was moved to Wadsworth Park due to the river access closure between Broadwater Bay and the Black Eagle Dam.
John Sandy announced the old outhouse is gone! It was picked up by a family and moved to the Dearborn area. The concrete slab still needs to be removed and disposed of.
Dan Woods brought up the August 22nd Club Fly and suggested we have a $10 landing fee that includes lunch and everyone thought it would be a good idea.
Dan also suggested a work party prior to the Fall Fury for track and drivers stand maintenance and John Sandy suggested we also remove the concrete on that day. September 5th was the best day for the work party. Dan said he would send out a message to the club and post on Facebook.
Materials and supplies were discussed for the work party including an electric jack hammer rental and stain and painting supplies and $400 was proposed for this effort. Don Woods made a motion and Chuck Woods seconded and the motion passed.
Thanks to all attendees, the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
