Big Sky RC Meeting Minutes
September 1, 2026
President Dan Woods brought the meeting to order at 7:02 PM at the Great Falls VFW with 6 members and a guest in attendance. We welcomed new member Cory Henderson.
President Dan Woods read August’s meeting minutes and they were accepted as read.
Treasurer Darrell Anderson read the Treasurer’s report and it was accepted as read.
Old business:
Dan Woods gave a run-down on the two August events; the Float Fly and the Fun Fly. Both were nice days with lower participation than usual but everyone that attended had a good time. No complaints about the landing fee and we made $120 between the fee and others that just came out to watch and have lunch. Thanks for cooking John!
Darrell Anderson had no update on the roof replacement over the frequency board but there was some discussion of retailer options.
Dan Woods had no update on the trailer purchase, still waiting for a good deal. 7K load rating options are out there but waiting for a 10K.
New business:
Dan Woods reminded everyone of the work party scheduled for Saturday, September 5th. Dan will be there at 8:00 and others will come out in the morning as well. Dan will bring stain and painting supplies. Everyone is encouraged to come out, the track and drivers stand need work!
Dan Woods discussed our upcoming Fall Fury event on September 12th and 13th and with the usual cooks and sales people not going to be there we will not have concessions unless there are other volunteers.
Dan Woods reminded everyone that there is also a Club Fly on the 19th and Darrell mentioned that the Leo’s Memorial Fly-in is October 3rd which is before the October meeting. John will be coordinating details for that event.
Thanks to all attendees, the meeting was adjourned at 7:37 pm.
FYI:
Club meetings are the first Tuesday night of the month at the Great Falls VFW, 7pm.
